This is also a 1/35 scale kit from Tamyia that I built straight out of the box.
This kit had individual track links which had to be glued together piece by piece. This
was the first time I've ever built a tank kit with this feature. This added to the model's construction time, but I think it looks much better than
the usual vinyl tracks, because these tracks fit more snugly.
This is also the first time I tried to recreate the zimmerit on the sides of the
tank. Zimmerit was a paste that the tank crews applied to the side of their tanks
to prevent infantry from sticking magnetic mines. I recreated the Zimmerit here by
using Apoxie putty in a very thin layer, then I scored it with the horizontal markings
with a sculpting tool. The figures are from DML/Dragon. The pointing infantryman is
a kitbash of several figure kits.
