The Viper Repop Kit
By Sean Farrell

Revell re-released their Viper model kit, from the series Battlestar Galactica, and I picked up two. Since I already painted one of these kits in the drab gray and orange color scheme, I wanted to do something different this time.

I decided to paint this up as a veteran of the First Cylon War, which occured some forty years before the events of nuBSG. I mainly chose Titanium White for the overall body, outlined in flat red. I painted the gears black, then dry-brushed silver and gun mental on the raised areas. This version came with a cockpit with a see-through canopy. I supplied seat belts, made out of Apoxie, to keep my pilot safe.

The new set of decals that come with this are very nice. I chose Lt. Bojay as the name of my pilot. I used the old Viper stand just for these shots.

I was planning to place this within a diorama, but those plans have been placed on hold when I heard that Moebius was coming out with an all-new model of the nuBSG Viper. Still, the Revell is a fun kit that's highly recommended.
