This fantasy diorama was created using a pair of 1/32 scale plastic blank
figures from Historex. I built their costumes using Aves Apoxie Sculpt. The
horse is from a Tamyia World War Two set. The diorama itself was built on a
thick sheet of styrofoam that was used as padding for an unassembled bookcase
that I recently bought.
The columns were sculpted from Balsa Foam. I had meant to have two columns
standing, but I accidently cut one too hard and broke it. This gave me the idea
to display one of the columns as a collapsed pile of ruins. I carved some gibberish
into the face of the remaing standing column, as if to show that these were once
landmarks used by an ancient civilization.
The story is that the old wizard is wandering the countryside, until he meets a
young woman on horseback who welcomes him to her home, which is right down the
road. Leave it to the kindness of strangers to make travels on the hard road a
little easier.
